kueh sri muka in it's correct color ^_^ can't say the same for the "ang ku kueh" though
baking frenzy
my new "room"The title summarizes our weekend events. Ivy was back in her baking frenzy mode. Her kueh Sri Muka taste as authentic as i can remember and her "ang ku kueh" is green in color :-P We had fun visiting the massive caravan and camping expo in Sydney. Bought a cheap $25 tent which is now my temp room ^_^ The caravans in the expo looked cool...something worth considering in the future. The baby in the subject refers to Kevin and Pols new daugther who was born on Saturday. Congrats to both of them!

Are you sure the tent will hold up in the presence of the natural forces of wind, rain & hail?? Looks flimsy to me.
We've been talking about it for so long - why don't we organise a camping trip. I can fly to Sydney if there are good sites. No more than 10km trek to the site is fine otherwise I'm so bloody unfit.
it's a cheap $25 tent.. dun expect too much. i might put it to test during the anzac long weekend..but kinda reluctant to camp now coz it is freaking cold at nite.
doesnt look like it can take the cold nites.. but if you got a nice additional goundsheet and a real cozy sleeping bag, it shldnt be too bad...
but hey.. it's a darn good bargain!!
Cold? That's WHY you go camping!
BTW, the new LEE is called Grace
to me, the main joy in camping is getting the "toys" for it. i saw a portable bunsen blower heater at the caravan show.. looks ideal for winter camping ^_^ too bad most of my camping stuff are still in JB.
grace? traditional name eh. hopefully i will have pix of their kid on my blog next week ^_^
Hey Kev and Pol, Congrats on the bundle of joy. I'm sure she will be a joy to both of you.
Sorry Ben, thought it will be convenient to highjack your Blog to send my wishes to the Lees. :) you gonna visit them in Mel ?
Looks like you'll need to change Ah Por's Ang Ku Kueh to Pei Ku Kueh. Sounds kinda ominous. Oh yeah, it looks like you have a built in dog house for those times when you get into trouble. :) Actually, I'm not much of a camper, but at $25 that's a steal. Especially for a tent that size.
Ben, camping is not all about buying the toys! Going camping is enjoying nature. Hmm... we'll rectify that when we go camping!
i like ta toys :-P
i think the toys part is the bigger and better fun part of things.. sam & i even use our camping stuff at home.. like his titanium cooking set .. and i tell u, the other day our cooking stove went kaput, and we were working late, so had to wait for the weekend before we could get it fixed.. and the stove etc came in real handy.. we've also got a portable gas griller, a few mixed fuel stove etc.. heheh :) and those sleeping thermarest (sleeping matteress)or camp beds comes in real handy when we have a few too many guest ...
Toys devalue the real sense of adventure and survival.
Just give me a bowie knife, a box of matches and a hammock.
I like the "toys" but I can bypass the camping bit. I'm not one to squat in the bush! Give me a spanking clean toilet any day!
Wah, Ivy really getting into the nyonya kueh making eh. That angku looks very smooth :)
Ben, sleeping in a tent? or got kick out of the bed byt Ah Poh? $25 for tent is really a good deal. Ha ha ha ...
Ang Ku Kueh is just a name. Nowadays, you can get many different colours & flavours. There is a shop near Alexander hawker food, sales various type of Ang Ku Kueh (Green, read, purple, yellow, orange, white, etc) and they all taste very nice. It also yummy soon kueh.
Last but not least, congratulations to Kev & Pol ... enjoy parenting!
