Lost

a fine example of why walking in jungles can be dangerous

you gotta cross the creek with attitude ^_^

where are we??

Ivy and me woke up on sunday wondering why our computers and mobiles had different times from our house clocks and watches. Australian gov has a habit of changing the daylight saving dates... daylight savings normally ends tis time of the year, but the government conveniently added another week to it without much anouncements. Ivy & me dread the end of daylight savings.. no more sunlight when we come back from work. For some reason, the longer nights seem to effect us negatively as we age. Anyway, it was still sunny over the weekend, so we continued our bush walking discovery adventures... tis time to a place called ted norwood reserve. We spent most of our time getting lost coz the tracks weren't very well marked out... thank goodness for gps ^_^

Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter to those who celebrated the event over the weekend!! The 4 day weekend was a true blessing... rested well and did what we wanted to. We had a BBQ/fishing/bush walking thingie at Ku-Ring-Gai National Park on Good Friday. The pictures will say it all ^_^

everyone doin the sphinx.. i was supposed to take the sphinx signage with ta pix, but i blew it.. sigh

It was a good outing, i think the largest group that i have gone out with in a long time.. sad case :-P Ivy and me did some additional trekking over the long weekend. This time at Lane Cove National Park. It's a good trek, steep hills, good distance of about 5km and lots of crazy mountain bikers. I summarized our trek in the following collage of pictures.

The normal life

Our regular skating venue... a massive netball court with over 10 courts side by side. Skating is really not popular here.. we tend to get stares from most passerby

wat's the name of tis kuih??

A little late with my weekly entry. A normal week filled with chores and simple pleasures. Ivy has been in a kuih mood.. the above is her 1st attempt on whatever the name of the kuih is. I am really bad with the names of kuihs. It however tasted as it should be ^_^ The good weather encouraged us to skate... but after a long break, we seemed to have forgotten most of our tricks :-P I was quite concerned most of the week with the political situation in Msia.. have even subscribed to Malaysiakini to get as much news as possible... all seems well now ^_^

Vroom Vroom

I don't have a massive zoom lense...crabby looking shot of the F1 speed boat

A portion of the crowd... not much of a crowd actually

The speedboat F1 was in town for the 1st time. Another excuse for ivy and me to make a trip to the city ^_^. Anyway, we wanted to take advantage of the nice sunny weather. The speedboat F1 sucked. We stayed for 10mins and were already bored.. no idea wat was going on, the boats were quite far away and the noise wasn't to my expectation. The big thing for the weekend was Msia's general election news. I can't say it was a shocker.... but i was surprised that BN lost Penang. How do you guys back home feel about the results?

Mardi What?

The massive crowd

the pope would have been proud :-P

does tis do anything for you??

Spot the Elvis.. tis was actually the view for ivy and me most of the time.. too much pushing and shoving

It was gay and lesbian weekend at Sydney. Weather was great, there was a good atmosphere in the city but the Mardi Gras show was a waste of time. The crowd was rowdy, lots of pushing, had to stand for a long period of time and the show was trashy. We waited for almost 2 hours for the thing to start but left after 30mins. I suppose we were expecting lots of quality exhibits, floats, brilliant costumes and proper dance routines. I guess the aim for Mardi Gras was for gays and lesbians to walk the streets proudly.
