Perspective

Our Anzac 3 day weekend came and went fast. Had initially wanted to do some fishing at Wollongong, but couldn't get enough kaki's. Re-visited the Lane Cove National Park instead with a group of friends for a few hours trek. I did not anticpate that the rain in the past week had made the trek muddy and the small creeks full with water. We spent more time taking off and putting on our shoes for the numerous creek crossings and avoiding muddy patches ^_^ We were dirty, wet but happy at the end of it ^_^

Ivy and me could hop over tis creek ta last time.. ah well

dirty dirty

ivy's kueh of the week.. her onde onde ^_^ i know the frequent posting of kuehs makes some of you guys sick.. but i just couldn't resist.. it tasted great!

Things have been breaking down around me lately. My car controller kaput, 2 watches refused to tick, my car ran out of petrol on me twice tis year, even beloved ipod nano stopped working on me last week... and on Saturday, my laptop gave me the blue screen of death... i absolutely hit the top when that happened... then i received a sms from yyee saying that his mum had passed away. Everything came in perspective to me. I felt a dreaded sadness with that news. My deepest condolence to yyee, ynern and their dad.

YY, very sorry to hear of your mum's passing. I'm certain she is greatly missed by all of you. Please take care.

Ju-Ju, small comfort ... at least your friends haven't kaput-ed on you :) Call us if you need an ear to bawl into.

Ivy, those kueh look scrumptious! I don't mind the photos in the least. Keep up the good work!

I suppose it's jus ta season for things to break down. Nothing serious, just annoyance.

Ah Han, yup it's encouraging to see everything still around and giving their views when they can ^_^

Ivy I suppose you guys made it to Cabra on Saturday. Onde-onde looks good :) Did the gula melaka spurt out upon first bite? :)

Thanks for Anzac walk. I had a great time despite putting on and off our shoes countless times! There's always a first! :)

Yingchai,
Sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. Can't offer any more words of consolation but I can imagine how I'll feel if I'm in your position.
Take care... life is precious.

Thanks so much for the condolences - it is a great comfort to me at this time.

My mom has actually been a cancer "survivor" for the past 20 years! Alas with cancer it never really goes away; in my mom's case her relapse started around 2 years ago and took a turn for the worse around the middle of last year when it spread to her spine.

Despite the best medical care available in this part of the world the cancer finally got the better of her and overcame even her indomitable will to fight and to survive, and she passed away peacefully on 25 April.

To all my friends out there, thank you again for your thoughtfulness and take care.
