Heeding the advice from Kim (in a previous blog), i took a walk to Milson's Point to shoot shoot photos. It's a good spot as you are able to have the harbour bridge and opera house on a same shot. I was lucky coz lightning was flashing across the sky.. it added umph to the shot. A week of ups and down for me. The up - job market is good for engineers; down - i have to stay put for a few months. On another personal topic, ivy and me will most likely be having our reception in early october in spore. Will post up the details once everything is confirmed. I will be looking for a bike next week.. hopefully i can get it then and be able to cycle around and shoot better images ^_^

The first shot gives me the giddy effect even just by looking at it from here. I wonder how you managed to focus. Very good shot.
The second shot is indeed powerful. You should be glad that I wasn't tagging along. Hate lightning! What's the word for people who hate lightning ? If I was there, I am sure you would tell me, "Don't worry, that was just my camera flash", right ? :) And yes, it's your best shot of harbor bridge so far. VERY best shot.
Yes, reception in early Oct. You still have time to tone up. Ahem~~~ :P
thank u... thank u ^_^ Now all i need is a bicycle so that i can get kampung shots of sydney :-P
Very good pics. Must learn from u when I have my DSLR. Was thinking of getting an old D70s but buy better lenses. Wonder how much those VR lenses cost..
Re: employment agency. Why don't you go direct to companies, that way you don't need to meet the agencies' requirements?
Terima kasih en khoo ^_^ if you can find a reasonably priced d70s, that will be ideal. The price for D70s hasn't dropped much at all as it is still a good camera.
I haven't used a VR lense, but i don't really think the impact is as good as a really fast lense or using a tripod ^_^ Anyway, part of the fun of DSLR is experimenting wif different lenses at different settings... have fun experimenting when you gets yours!!
Getting a good commet from Ivy is excellent! As she has been in photographer for a long time.
Anyway, when is yr reception? October when. I may be away for a trip HK Disneyland on 3rd week of Oct.
Wow... all into DSLR. Do you know a picture from a norm camera can printed out to very big ... w/o getting doggy image. A 13M pixel camera has a limit to print big picture.
I still remember that we company Ivy to Peninsular Plaza to buy an classic camera (look down one) back in the early 1990s.
Ah Yang, at the moment, the dinner date is 6th Oct in Spore, and 7th Oct in JB. Haven't decided the details yet.
A 13MP should have enough pixels to fill at least an A0 sized poster. But it will turn out bad if not taken with a good camera. However a film camera is in a different category all together. Pixels mean nothing to film. Yeah, i do remember the cheapo china made Medium Format camera ivy bought from Peninsular..funnily, my D50 was bought from Peninsular too ^_^ It seems so long ago.. don't even remember seeing pictures from that camera.
Goat and Ben
That medium format camera's brand is Seagull. Made in China. At that time, China was still not infamous for making dodgy products. I will not buy any R.O.C products thesedays if I can avoid it. But then, that only cost about $90 then, nothing much to complain about. Compared with those cameras you guys are talking about, that price for a medium format is like a memory chip thesedays. Oh, I still have Ben's pictures taken with that camera. B&W, taken in Beddoe or Marshall Ave. Ben in his XS size t-shirt, geeky hairstyle, clowning around... Ahem...you know, that time... :P
Err... wat geeky hairstyle? And it wasn't a XS t-shirt.. i was skinny then!
