Do i look wiser?? ^_^
The older we get, the fitter we get ^_^ (ivy's new wheels on ta left)Meadowlife is back to normality ^_^ Ivy did a simple celebration for my bday..yippee. And i received well wishes from many of my close friends and family. Although we get bday greetings year in and year out, it gets extremely special when ta same bunch of people remembers your bday every year... i guess tat's wen you know who are keepers ^_^ Ivy and me were feeling tired and lethargic most of the week.. the price of our "adventures". But it's gud to be back together ^_^

Yeah, our second birthday together in Meadowlife.
Long live the king on 24 Oct ~~~
* Ben and I made a pact that he is the king on his bday, once every year. ><
Oops, sorry that I forgot yr Bday. Welcome to mid 30s club. Wow we (Uni friends) have been friends for 15-16 years. Do you still recall the yr Bday celebration while studying in Australia? I can't really remember much.
Last but not least, long live the King Ben & Queen Ivy.
wats all tis king & queen thingie. they were quite a few conditions tied to the "king" title so it was a con job ^_^
dun really remember much abt my bdays during beddoe/marshall days.. they were mostly kept simple... which is good. but i do remember blowing heaps of ballons for karen's bday and seeing ling getting chased around and tackled to the ground for his bday ^_^
you look younger ;D
mmm, the title "king" when bestowed on someone not born into a royal family is generally 'empty' and is done to make that person feel important ... erhmmm ...
oh, you remembered the balloons, eh. i do too. that was one of my most memorable birthdays. you guys made me very happy when i stumbled into my room to find it filled with heaps of balloons covering the floor. thank you once again (ling aa, you reading this??)
enjoy your togetherness.
alamak..typo in my comment "there were quite a few conditions..."
^_^
Back to normality, eh? Not so fast.... wait till the KHOOs descend on you guys in Sydney! Yes, bringing the whole gang. Will probably stay somewhere South of Sydney - where are you located?
Where did you get ivy's MTB? Karen & I have decided to start riding to improve our health & fitness.... :D
eh? how come south sydney and not wif your sis? not going to help you sis move?? ^_^ we are located in inner west sydney
bought the bike from kmart.. only $170 ^_^ it's fully alloy, but there are too many suspensions.. feels really bouncy. If you get the bike from the shops, it will cost about $260 for the lowest range (tat's mine, but it feels better). I dunno when did $260 become the cheapest bike.. tat amounts to MYR800!! geez
Aiya, for work we'll stay in a hotel la.... don't want to impose too much with the kids. Well, I'll stay wherever is convenient. I'll just rent a car, drive & get lost in suburban Sydney
go get a bluetooth gps receiver for your E61 phone and install tomtom on your phone. i can pass the software and map to you if you want..it is really useful especially since you travel around Oz these days.
Firstly, yes, I do remember the bday with me being chased around by a bunch of GUYS...if it was girls...then that would have been a really memorable bday....as it is, it more of a try to forget but cannot kinda memory :)...
Karen, yup I remember the balloons. Think we nearly ran out of breadth for that...lucky we were still young. Now I'll probably collapse from lack of breadth.
By the way, Ben, what do you mean by "adventures" ???? Can I assume you mean outdoor adventures ? :P
Oh yes, the guy is only "King" of the house by name...we're more like general managers of the house...we make general decisions and do general work...heh heh...
Happy belated birthday!
I remember old man Dr. Blane from Richardson coming out one dark night and telling all of us to shut the **** up, one of the birthdays at the Halls!
On a related note, it is sobering to realize that we're already (the most of us anyway) in our mid-thirtysomethings - only 15 years or thereabouts to go before the big 50...it seems not such a long time ago when we were young(er) and having the time of our lives at uni, eh?
Ah Teng.. i was wondering who will make a punt on the "adventures" word.. geez. It was refering to the 2 receptions back home and travelling in NZ...bah
Yiing Chai.. yes, it is sobering that most of us are already in our mid 30s... btw, happy belated bday to you too..just remembered your bday was a few days back too ^_^ Back to the sober thoughts.. it is more sobering for me tat our parents are now so old.. sigh.
Hmm.. YYee.. isn't your bday today?? or was it yesterday ^_^ And how in ta world can you possibly remember Dr Blane or even the name of any tutors??
It was yesterday, actually, sandwiched between Ern's and Jie's birthdays (which is a good thing for logistics since we do a 3-in-1 :-)
Names? What names? Remember I'm rubbish at them? Katherine, OTOH is a wizard at names, plus she stayed in Richardson...
ah... sorry.. happy belated birthday.. and to yy too...
bdays - nowadays barely celebrated by us. the most is going out for a meal ;)
yeah.. those balloons were great. the entire room was filled!!
Thanx mich! I view bday's as an excuse for people to gather and have dinner together ^_^
Ah.. most of the uni gang are here ^_^ nice nice. Was trying to get ong-chai to be part of our discussion, but he seems more into facebook :-P
I guess this is a good place to catch up since we are all over the place.
Dunno.. but am not into Facebook. Have yet to sign up even with so many invitations from friends.
So... looks like Ivy & you are back into all the adventure...but.. dont forget to update us all and more pixs too.. :)
Birthdays. Hmm... I remember we celebrated Karen's one in 1993 (I think) at her house. After the B'day, there is plenty of food left. We were playing BIG2. Then the idea of losers must eat as penalty based on the number cards on hand. The game was fun, as we are playing to minimise the points (so eat less). I can still remembered Alan's expression he has to eat 2 piece of pandan cake, coz he lost (10 cards on hand). Ha ha ha ...
BTW, Gim Tuan was there too. It's definitely a good memory for me when I was in Monash Uni.
Thank you all. Happy Birthday everyone!
Ah.. yes, the cup cakes and pandan cake big2 matches.. i am sure we will do it again when all of us are retired.. hopefully we dun kill ourselves while playing it then ^_^
Mich, tis blog will still be updated weekly.. karen's and mine kinda runs concurrently.. we kinda push each other to make ta effort ^_^
wow, (most) everyone is here!!! feels like the good old days. i think we should all meet up once at least soon to celebrate all our birthdays. ben, the khoo family will be heading to kl around 18 oct 2008. want to make a trip then too??
yes, those birthdays were memorable. i had great fun watching ppl get sick from eating up leftovers and others keeling over from excessive alcohol.
ong-chai? he's busy these days. we haven't seen him for years now ... AND we live about 25 mins apart.
mich, good thing ben and i egg each other on. otherwise, i may well lag behind in my blog posts. sometimes, really feel like ignoring them cos don't know how to put into words what's in my head.
happy belated birthday to you, yiing yee!
Firstly, happy belated bday YY...
Oh yes, the cupcakes and pandan cakes...that was kind of like a russian roulette with cakes. If you end up with 13 cards on your hand...it's game over man...26 cupcakes or something like that. heh heh...Ongchai ended up with that I think :)
Hmmm...when we retire, it will probably be cups of porridge, not cupcakes...cupcakes no good on the old digestive systems. And at that time, we will need to double them up to 3 cards for 1 small cup.
By the Karen, these blogs are good...they keep us all in touch. :)...it's better than emailing, which I struggle to keep up with...
