Vivid

My monthly blog entry is here! Winter isn't exactly the most exiting time of the year. It seems colder this year and I absolutely hate the the 5pm sunsets. I made quite a few trips to the city this month coz of the vivid sydney show. Nothing outstanding, it was mainly the sydney opera house getting illuminated with different patterns and a few light exhibits around the rocks area. But.. i had to make 3 trips there coz i constantly had different people who wanted to go there. Photos below are snapshots of the last 3 weeks.

My cousin HJing from Melb was in town, thus my 1st visit to the vivid show. It was drizzling and cold that nite, and i was also feeling a little tipsy coz i had just attended a cocktail party to celebrate my company's success in winning an extension to our current project. Yup... i will be stuck in my current project for another 7 years. By they end of the tenure, i should know every pipe main, undeground cable and pipe main in Sydney :-P

My 2nd trip to the vivid sydney thingie. This time it was with ivy and my new colleagues. I was too lazy to censor ivy's face in our group photo, so i decided to post this mistimed photo instead ^_^

We had a 3 day weekend 2 weeks back to celebrate the Queen's bday. It's funny that they celebrate the Queen's bday on different days depending on the state. Anyway, ivy and me decided to use our bike's for the 1st time this year!! Took us about 30mins just to pump the tyres and clean the dusty bikes ^_^

We went fishing on another day during the 3 day weekend. As usual, we caught nothing ! Sigh

My 3rd trip to vivid sydney. This time with my ex-colleague Sonny. He was too sick to tag along the last 2 times. At least this time, there was some fire show at the harbour. They were simulating the sinking of some ship which happened about 100 years back. It was entertaining ^_^ at least the fire helped keep me warm.

What??! Your bi-weekly blog update is now monthly? Someone is sure getting lazy.

Good to know your company got the extension and more importantly job security for the staff.

See you in September!

Well, from the point of view of someone here in Malaysia, you're on perpetual holiday, what with visits to the Opera House, walks, etc.

That'd represent months of planning, oodles of cash and tons of time for us here in Malaysia, sigh.

How's the H1N1 situation there?

Yyee.. we won't have time nor convenience of doing our weekend outings if we had 4 kids and a business to run too ^_^ Neither do we experience the joy of having a large family and satisfaction of running a business ^_^

But i do admit that i am not tempted to revert back to my lifestyle in Spore or Msia :-P

H1N1?? I think 4 ppl have died in Oz so far. Nothing big here. The government is treating it as a normal cold. They have even told the public that they won't be given tamiflu unless the patient is seriously ill. The government views diseases to lifestock and algriculture as a bigger threat than diseases to humans ^_^

YYee,

It's a lifestyle choice. If we had stayed behind in KL, we would have been caught up with the rat race and won't have time to "smell the roses". After some practice, there is no need for meticulous planning, especially when you have kids. Good thing I was a scout in the teenage days and the mantra of "be prepared" rings true always.

It's funny that for the first time in my life, I'm looking forward to summer. Not for the terribly hot days but the time which I can be outdoors. In winter, there's limited places you can go to.

ivy wanted me to highlight that my views do not necessarily reflect her's :-P she likes the energy levels back in spore, misses the shopping lifestyle and the buffet of close friends and relatives which are seriously lacking here. she constantly describes the locals here as arrogant, rude, ignorant on the progress of other countries, big talkers, over-value + over-sell themselves. i believe she is secretly plotting on running back to Spore for gud without my knowledge one of these days ^_^

My view on her's = you can't have it all..hee hee

Ben has been doing a good job. Bi-weekly or monthly updates are fine. I hardly have time to visit website. Been busy with work. Company desktop's software is going for some major changes (eg Lotus Notes -> MS Outlook).

I'm looking forward to meet when you're M'sia/S'pore in Oct.
